Suggestions for the month of October

San Faustos:

Every single year, during the second week of October, the Biscayan town of "Basauri" celebrates their big annual summer-festival parties. In 2018 the party will take place from the 6th till the 14th of October. Interesting free concerts starting with Hesian on the 6th at 22:30. Don't have to miss the "Zurrakapote" typical drink in the "lonjas" for free. You should drink it using the typical "Porrón".

Jornadas Europeas del Patrimonio:

Every single year, during the month of October, the whole Biscayan Territory celebrates the annual "European Heritage Days" where several museums, buildings, and landscapes are opened for free guided tours. Usually the tours, conferences and all the events held around the Heritage Days are focused on one specific topic of interest. In 2018 the topic will be "Women's influence on the European Heritage".

"Kilometroak" Basque Language Festival:

Every year, on the closest sunday to the 8th of October, basque speakers and those who love the basque language, its history and related culture join together in a Gipuzkoan town to decide for a big outdoor music festival. In 2018 the date will be the 7th of October and the place will be "Zumarraga".

Txikiteroen Eguna:

Every single year, on the 11th of October, basque singers join together in the old town of Bilbao to celebrate the "Txikitero Eguna", an old tradition in remind of the Begoña Virgin. Everybody sings old traditional songs in Basque and Spanish languages and the wine is all over the place too.

Durangoko Jaiak:

Every single year, during the third week of October, the Biscayan town of "Durango" celebrates their big annual summer-festival parties. In 2018 the party will take place from the 13th till the 20th of October.

Espeleta's Pepper Fair:

Every year in the mid-october weekend the Basque-French town of "Espelette" celebrates their big annual party focused on their famous Pepper. A big Basque fair is held over there and the party all night long is mandatory for that saturday. In 2018 the party date will be the 27th of October.

Last Monday of Gernika:

Every single year, the last monday of October, the Biscayan town of "Gernika" celebrates a big rural festival party. In 2018 the party will take place the 29th of October.

Guggenheim Museum Anniversary:

Every single year, during the closest weekend to the 20th of October, the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao celebrates its foundation anniversay with two days of open doors and free visits. Really interesting to enjoy the views from the inside, and many times they also use the event to start a new exhibition. In 2018 the dates will be the 20th and the 21st of october: saturday and sunday.

Salón del Cómic:

Every single year, during the last weekend of October, one of the most important Comic-Cons in the north of Spain is held in Biscayan city of "Getxo". A very important Congress and a good Competition for new authors too. This year 2018 the Comic-Con will be opening the 19th of October and will be lasting till the 21st.

Japan Weekend Bilbao:

Every single year, during one of the last weekends of October, the Japan Weekend tour arrives to Bilbao. In 2018 the weekend selected will be the 20th of October, and the event will take place in the Bilbao Exhibition Center. A great way to discover the Japanese Culture in Bilbao.

"Nafarroa Oinez" Basque Language Festival:

Every year, on the closest sunday to the 22nd of October, basque speakers and those who love the basque language, its history and related culture join together in a town from Navarre to decide for a big outdoor music festival. In 2018 the date will be the 21st of October and the place will be "Altsasu".

Last Tour's BIME:

Every single year, during the last weekend of October, the BIME Music festival arrives to Bilbao. In 2018 the weekend selected will be the 25th, 26th and 27th of October.

Deusto Bier Festa:

Every year at the end of October and the beginning of November the OktoberFest lands in Bilbao. Bavarian Music, Food and Drinks to experience a real European Party in the most pure german style. In 2018 the dates will be from the 24th of October till the 4th of November.

Lore Jokoak:

Every single year the closest sunday to the 28th of October the Biscayan town of "Munguía" celebrates a big rural party with tradition singing and dancing. Really worth it. In 2018 the date will be the 28th of October.

Halloween's Parties:

Every single year, on the 31st of October the Halloween Party is celebrated in the city of Bilbao and surroundings. Trick or treat is performed by kids, and some older people also, around houses. Dress-parties are held all over the city too. Great opportunity to have fun before the "Saints Day", which is a more Catholic religious kind of party and a Bank Holyday in Spain.
